MacKeeper has been aggressively marketing itself for quite some time now. If you have already seen their ads or description on their website, they call it as a 911 for your Mac. Have you installed MacKeeper and uninstalled it later just to see that it’s still showing you the pop-ups to install it again? Frankly speaking, I installed MacKeeper once, I don’t know why but I did. So, you can assume me as another victim getting those persistent pop-ups. When I dug deep into the system files, few folders with initials “MacKeeper” were there. It made me go nuts, a few minutes back I have completely deep cleaned this application from my Mac, how come the residues are still there? In case you are too fed up with those pop-ups, it’s perfectly possible that these folders are the culprit. So, let’s see how you can remove MacKeeper Pop-up from your Mac.

By this time, I assume that you have already uninstalled MacKeeper from your Mac. Now we are going to see the follow-up steps to get rid of all those unwanted pop-ups.
Step 1: First, we are going to locate those residue folders.
Launch Finder from and from the Status bar, tap on Go. From the available options, tap on Go to Folder…
Step 2: Next, copy the folder location and paste it in the dialog box. Tap on Go.
~/Library/Application Support
Step 3: From the list of available folders, locate the folders with initials “MakcKeeper”. These folders would have names like MacKeeper.Helper, MacKeeper.installer, etc. Remove all those files having the initials “MacKeeper”.
Step 4: Once you have deleted the folders, restart your Mac and check if the pop-ups persist. I believe, they are long gone by now.

As I said, MacKeeper has a reputation of being persistent with its users. it sometimes even finds the place inside the extension area of Safari or sometimes Cache and Cookies, thereby, leading to pop-ups whenever you browse the Internet.
Step 1: Launch Safari and head over to the Safari Preferences.
Step 2: From the Preferences window, select Extension and from the list of installed extensions, remove the one which you are not familiar with.
Step 3: Next, clear Cache and Cookies from Safari and relaunch it. I am very much sure you won’t see those pop-ups ever again in your life, only if you have not decided to install MacKeeper again.

It’s always a good idea to make sure things you did have persistent results. Let’s double check if you have followed the procedure right or there are still some MacKeeper folders left behind.
Step 1: Head over to the Finder again and then tap on Go from the status bar. Subsequently, tap on Go to Folder…
Step 2: Now, check if the following files exist on your Mac or not. If any of them exist, you know what to do next. Simply move them to the trash.
